Georgetown Parks

Last Saturday and today, a friend and I met in Georgetown to paint. Today, we went to Blue Hole Park. It's a popular fishing location we shared with locals trying to catch some trout. I found my inspiration across the water -- a beautiful tree casting a great shadow on the rocky cliff. After the fourth time the wind stole my umbrella, I decided it was time to stop painting, even though It's not nearly finished. Painting without the umbrella wasn't really an option, as the bright sunlight directly on the canvas distorts the colors and tires eyes quickly.

Here's my sketch/painting in the direct sun

Last week, we painted at San Gabriel Park. I didn't care for my painting, but I got some great shots of a crane. I will definitely be painting this gorgeous bird!

             More to come!
