Lemons Study

I have signed up for the 30 in 30 painting challenge that starts on Jan 1st. As I am preparing for creating 30 paintings in 30 days, I am thinking about how I should approach this unique opportunity. The organizer of the 30 in 30, Leslie Saeta, suggests selecting a theme to help keep the ideas flowing, and to be sure to have fun and experiment. Last night, I was not happy with this painting and decided to have some fun with my pallette knife, to get bold in color and in texture. I may continue to go in this direction for the 30 in 30 event. It was a lot of fun, and fast!

Seriously?

Seriously? You want to paint my picture? How about some food? This curious cow came right up to my easel when I was painting at a ranch. We had the great idea to go into the field to paint some cattle, and of course, they all came over to find out if we had food. I think it's the first time this city girl was face to face with a cow!

Tree Trio

About a month ago, the Plein Air Austin group had the opportunity to paint at a private ranch in Austin. The first day it rained, but the second day the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. This trio of trees caught my eye and I painted them. I finished the painting today in my studio.

Backyard View

Backyard View
Oil, 14 x 18
sold

Over the last couple of months, I've been working on this painting for a friend. It's the view of her backyard that she wants to preserve in a painting to reflect on as she anticipates moving to a new home in the future.
